HuskyTHON breaks records in 2022 and raises $1,340,670.68 for Connecticut Children’s!

On April 2nd, UConn hosted its 23rd annual HuskyTHON, an eighteen-hour dance marathon benefitting Connecticut Children’s. Over 3,500 students participated in the year-long fundraising initiative, each raising a minimum of $250 for the cause. It was HuskyTHON’s first year back in person since the Covid-19 pandemic, so stakes were high. Adjustments had to be made, including pushing back the date to allow for an entirely outdoor, Covid-safe event. Despite the new changes, the HuskyTHON Management Team flourished, putting on one of the most successful years yet,

At 12:00 AM, hundreds of students, miracle kids, and their families anxiously watched as the fundraising total was announced. Emotion enveloped UConn’s Founder’s Green when it was revealed that the HuskyTHON community had yet another unbelievably successful year, raising a total of $1,340,670.68 for Connecticut Children’s. With tears of joy and pride flooding the eyes of students, and miracle kids smiling ear-to-ear, it finally felt like HuskyTHON again.

HuskyTHON 2022 broke records, with the highest dance marathon attendance in the country, the most participants in program history, and a record breaking day of fundraising total- raising more than $100,000 on the event date.

As HuskyTHON continues to break records year after year, we could not be more grateful for each director, captain, participant, and donor. Your selflessness and unconditional support of Connecticut Children’s is what allows us to change kids’ health and change the future.
